Our Commitment

DoohDeal is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards to ensure we provide equal access to all users.

Conformance Status

DoohDeal targets conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA, as required by the European Accessibility Act (EAA / Directive 2019/882) and Germany's Barrierefreiheitsstärkungsgesetz (BFSG).

Current status: Partial conformance. We have implemented accessibility features across the platform and continue to address remaining gaps.

Accessibility Features

• Skip-to-content navigation link on all pages
• Keyboard navigation support throughout the application
• Screen reader compatible with ARIA labels and live regions
• Color contrast ratios meeting WCAG AA standards (4.5:1 minimum)
• Proper heading hierarchy for screen reader navigation
• Focus management on page navigation
• Respect for reduced motion preferences
• Semantic HTML with proper table markup
• Alternative text on images
• Dark and light theme support with system preference detection
• Text resizable up to 500% without loss of functionality
• Non-visual alternative for map-based search (table/card views)

Known Limitations

While we strive for full WCAG 2.2 AA compliance, some areas may have limitations:

• Some third-party components (Mapbox map) may have limited keyboard accessibility
• PDF exports are not yet available in tagged/accessible format
• User-generated content (chat messages, uploaded documents) may not always meet accessibility standards

Assessment Method

DoohDeal assesses accessibility through a combination of:

• Automated testing with axe-core integrated into our CI/CD pipeline
• Manual keyboard-only navigation testing
• Screen reader testing (VoiceOver, NVDA)
• Regular audits against WCAG 2.2 AA success criteria
